Standard Life Investments wished to construct a mixed use development of the highest standard, befitting its location in the city, on the corner site of 1-5 Old Jewry and 36-39 Poultry.

The development is to comprise of commercial offices and sub-divisible retail space on the ground floor and basement.

Davis Langdon Mott Green Wall were appointed as the M&E Cost Consultants in Jan 2005.

The brief comprised of commercial office space to Cat A over 9 floors and retail space to shell & core on the ground floor and basement. In total, the amount of space planned came to over 10,000 m2 of which is 1000 m2 is retail space.

The key challenge was the location, which was within a restricted area. Much due care and consideration was needed with the neighbouring properties when constructing the development. The project has a planned practical completion in Nov 2007.

The development is to be designed, constructed and commissioned in a little less than 3 years.

The design is to achieve the aims set out in the Standard Life Investments Socially Responsible Investment Policy.
