Full refurbishment and extension of a 500,000ft2 1960’s tower block following bomb damage. The existing building was stripped back to a structural shell, two additional floors were added at podium level and one redundant plant floor was converted to office space. The building was then re-clad with high performance curtain walling and provided with a state-of-the-art internal fit-out suitable for “The City’s Premier Office Tower”.

Our role commenced with Hammerson’s decision to investigate the purchase of the building. We were involved in early feasibility studies, through Cost Planning and appointment of a construction manager/main contractor, with whom we later negotiated a GMP. We have been actively involved in post contact cost control and, in addition, have provided full back up to Hammerson in the discussions with the Loss Adjuster.
