Logica CMG provide managed Data services to other businesses.

Their centre in Bridgend was reaching the limit of the power availability within the technical space areas and additionally the resilience levels were being eroded by the increased data load power requirements.

The whole project was carried out in within live technical spaces.

It Entailed the upgrading of the incoming electrical infrastructure to provide an additional 2.5MVA incoming HV supply and new substation incorporating a 2.5MVA transformer  was formed to accommodate this.  The resilience was further enhanced with the installation of 3Nr 1.4MVA  low voltage generators complete with a bulk fuel storage system.  2 New UPS systems and associated switchgear was installed in newly formed switchrooms within the existing building. New cabling was installed together with additional PDUs within the technical spaces.

Mechanical services was upgraded to provide cooling to the new UPS switchrooms.

After a series of rigorous testing and failure modes the works were handed over December 2005.
