Davis Langdon Mott Green wall were appointed to carry out the Cost Management of the project which included a number of due diligence studies on various potential sites before the site at Northolt was finally decided upon April 2004.
Entailed the conversion of an existing warehouse facility of 6,500m² to provide ultimately two data halls each of 2,150m² and a Work Area Recovery facility on a mezzanine structure of 4,000m². Phase 1 of the works was to provide 2,150m² of technical space and 1,200m² associated office facility together with reception, security room, IT build rooms and loading bay.
The design was to a Tier 4 uptime institute classification at a power loading of 1,000W/m² with dual resilient paths for both electrical and mechanical systems.
Generators, Air Cooled Chillers and Transformers are sited externally with switchgear and UPS systems located in newly formed plant spaces. All systems were given thorough Integrated Systems Tests and Black building Tests to ensure the resilience level was achieved.
The Phase 1 programme required the first data hall to be ready for IT fit out by 1st Qtr 2005.
The Phase 1 technical space raised floor area were duly completed and handed over for IT fit out 1st Qtr 2005 and the office 2 months later.
