Davis Langdon's response to "Tax Incentives for Development of Brownfield Land: A Consultation (March 2007)" was prepared and submitted to the Treasury on behalf of the Environmental Industries Commission on 14th June 2007.

The purpose of the consultation is to respond to the recommendation made in the Barker Review into land supply for housing in 2006, which called for modifications to tax incentives targeted at brownfield development to facilitate the development of long term derelict land.  The response is based on interviews and questionnaire responses from leading national housebuilders, private sector developers and key industry representatives and stakeholders.

The Treasury have indicated that they will make an announcement regarding the implementation of modifications in the Pre-Budget Report in December 2007 with a view to enactment on the April 2008  Budget.
