The recent awareness and significance of sustainable design has brought it to the mainstream, with public entities beginning to incorporate green building requirements into existing or completely new guidelines. The City of Pasadena Green Building Program is taking it one step further, providing education and financial incentives for sustainable builders, also requiring all projects over 50,000 square feet to achieve LEED certification using LEED NC (New Construction) or CI (Commercial Interiors) guidelines. To assist with this program, Davis Langdon is providing sustainable design services directly to the City of Pasadena including: developing a process for implementing the LEED compliance review, development of a workbook explaining City and LEED processes and requirements, conducting pre-application conferences, advising project applicants of the City’s Green Building requirements, advising City staff of LEED compliance, assessing design documents as part of the plan check process, and advising staff of corrective actions for changes in approved green building measure made during construction.
